Calculating your own size box

Below I have shown how to create your own custom box. If you will use a computer program to create your template there are sites with conversion from cm to pixels so that your printed template will be the size you want. My calculations are based on thin card. The thicker the card that you will be using, the larger the lid will need to be in comparison with the base.

I have also made a box diagram that will have sides of the same thickness when complete. The measurements, as before, are up to you.

How to make your own box

I have used card but for a stronger box you could use cardboard. There are many different materials that can be used for the covers: wrapping paper, origami paper, tissue paper, handmade paper, kitchen towels (some have very nice patterns)…I have provided the basics, the rest is up to your imagination.
